Beth Phillips – Registered Physician Assistant
Beth began her medical career in 1985 as an EMT working for Hayes Ambulance in Cortland, NY while still in college earning her Bachelors degree in Biology . She also worked at Cortland Memorial Hospital as a phlebotomist, EKG and cardiac rehab technician in order to gain the experience needed for PA school requirements.
In 1989, she attended Albany Medical College for PA school where she graduated with honors. Her first position as a PA was at Cortland Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Room. She then worked at SJHHC as a surgical PA and house officer. Her primary position was in general, thoracic and vascular surgery. She also frequently assisted and provided nighttime coverage for surgical subspecialties including plastic surgery, urology, cardiovascular, orthopedic and neurosurgery. She became the coordinator for the surgical PA service responsible for overseeing all of the surgical PAs at the hospital. She was adjunct faculty for the LeMoyne college PA Program as the preceptor for PA students during their general surgery rotations at SJHHC.
In 2000, Beth left the hospital setting and worked privately with Dr. Arthur Vercillo performing general surgical procedures with a strong focus in breast and thyroid surgery. As Dr Vercillo’s career transitioned to less clinical time, Beth chose to accept a position that allowed her more operating time and hands-on patient care. In 2005, she began working with Dr Deboni in his growing plastic surgery practice. She is a contributing writer for the Women of Upstate New York Magazine and has been writing monthly articles highlighting current topics in plastic surgery since 2015.
She brings a wealth of insight and experience to our practice. Working with Dr Deboni for over 13 years, she specializes in both surgical and non-surgical procedures. Her expertise in facial fillers, fat grafting and Botox have resulted in patients from all over central NY seeking her out for treatment. Beth has attended numerous advanced courses in fillers and Botox, and has completed the Allergan Master Injector training. Her combination of finesse and cutting edge techniques creates soft, natural results that her patients love. Additionally, Beth works side by side with Dr Deboni in the operating room, bringing a female perspective to their surgical procedures.
